  • It is an impressive neo-Romanesque style church for its architecture and dimensions. Built between the year 1900 and 1903. It is located in a neighborhood that was completely destroyed by the bombardments of air terrorism against the German civilians of the allied air forces in the second world war, and was almost completely destroyed in 1944. It was reconstructed after 10 years.

  • Because the new Roman architecture, in fact, just imitation, for my taste, this church is notable unless their gigantic size.

  • I fails to understand many of the reviews here: you can not walk around the Church, there is no accessible garden and historically this church is completely uninteresting. Architecturally it's a neo-Romanesque building of purpose (well 100 years old), the non-original was rebuilt after the war (the Tower helmets were originally much higher and slim, much like in the Bamberg Cathedral). The new pseudo Romanesque Tower helmets make the Church appear too stocky. Inside, the Church is very large, almost huge, bright and consistent. Fits very well the perceived to paint of the vault and in the redesign of the chancel was very carefully and stylish approach. Overall, a nice large parish church, which is well worth a detour, but, because it is a fair distance away from the old town.
