Deutsches Eck (German Corner), Koblenz

4.4
Right where the Moselle river joins the Rhine, Deutsches Eck (German Corner) memorializes the long path to postwar German unity. You can explore the Koblenz park's site of the 13th-century settlement of Teutonic Knights. Then look for the imposing monument to Kaiser Wilhelm I. It was recreated and placed here in 1993 as a symbol of the desire for German reunification. The 37 m (121 ft) tall structure is decorated with the crests and shields of each German federal state. Pay a visit to the pleasant green space and riverside outcropping. You'll find plenty of places watch the riverboats and water traffic. Deutsches Eck (German Corner) is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our world travel planner, Koblenz Edition.

  • Extremely clean, great history, amazing tour. Its huge and a great picnic spot. If you keep walking you can even see part of the Berlin wall.
  • It's the German corner...2 rivers split. Really cool stone structure and statues as well as a nice little cafe/ Biergarten if you're there during the summer months. Worth a 5-10 minute stop if you're in the area
  • It's interesting historically, worth visiting. Fun to walk up to the top of the monument.
  • Excellent view, great service. Location is beside the parking making it a great place to go.
  • Nice monument. Great area to walk or jog along the rivers during nice weather. Nearby gondola cable car will take you across the river to the huge fortress.
