Deutsches Eck (German Corner), Koblenz

(4.5/5 based on 1,100+ reviews on the web)
Right where the Moselle river joins the Rhine, Deutsches Eck (German Corner) memorializes the long path to postwar German unity. You can explore the Koblenz park's site of the 13th-century settlement of Teutonic Knights. Then look for the imposing monument to Kaiser Wilhelm I. It was recreated and placed here in 1993 as a symbol of the desire for German reunification. The 37 m (121 ft) tall structure is decorated with the crests and shields of each German federal state. Pay a visit to the pleasant green space and riverside outcropping. You'll find plenty of places watch the riverboats and water traffic. • It's a nice place to visit if happened to be in Koblenz. Good for long walks or chilling on the grass and benches. Some cruises available also nothing so special about it though. Statue is massive but...  more »
  • All beautiful place on the confluence of the Rhine and the Moselle. Beautiful cruise ships come along. As well as cargo ships.

  • Wonderful views. An epic statue of the last German Kaiser. Young children will be fascinated by the boats coming and going, older children will love that the entire area is plastered with pokestops.
  • Nice place to visit. Here the Rhein and the Mosel rivers meet. This place has a rich historical heritage.
  • I came here without expecting a statue this size, very intimidating and beautiful. Same goes for the few, ships just passing by gives for a great relaxing atmosphere.
  • It's even taller than you imagine looking at the pictures! Its nice that you can go all the way upstairs and take picture between the pillars that supports it. It does need some maintenance cleaning because the horse is all black of dust now. 🐴
  • Lovely park with many memorials to German unity. Local beer garden is also lovely.
