Deutsches Eck (German Corner), Koblenz
Categories: Landmarks, Tourist Spots
Right where the Moselle river joins the Rhine, Deutsches Eck (German Corner) memorializes the long path to postwar German unity. You can explore the Koblenz park's site of the 13th-century settlement of Teutonic Knights. Then look for the imposing monument to Kaiser Wilhelm I. It was recreated and placed here in 1993 as a symbol of the desire for German reunification. The 37 m (121 ft) tall structure is decorated with the crests and shields of each German federal state. Pay a visit to the pleasant green space and riverside outcropping. You'll find plenty of places watch the riverboats and water traffic. First you go a tour of the old city and then you end up automatically at this point, just follow the stream of people. You can rest your legs and have a beer nearby at an outdoor cafe.
I understand it is an important cultural location for the German people, but there is not much to see other than the river, the river traffic, and the statue with the first German Kaiser on horseback.

It's even taller than you imagine looking at the pictures! Its nice that you can go all the way upstairs and take picture between the pillars that supports it. It does need some maintenance cleaning because the horse is all black of dust now. 🐴
I believe this place is must visit. Not only it has special atmosphere, also the view is beautiful on sunset. Just love it.
Watched the fireworks display on shore and from the boat Der Rhein during Der aRhein im Flammen. Prepare to be astonished.
Impressive place. The view is wonderful. Some events are held here. Nice.
Spectacular sight as approached from the Rhine on a ship...
