  • On our next tour, I chose this restaurant due to its excellent reviews and a great location. Yes, the long and extremely arduous way up was worth to the Castle! The beer was deliciously cold and tasty in pre-chilled jugs. The food was great! Star suspect! Cooked venison or steak exactly to the point. Great homemade side dishes solidified the impression of good and everything was very tasty served. The price was reasonable and the portions sufficient and not oversized.

  • Already for the third time at the whisky tasting here. Again, a nice and interesting experience for lovers of good whiskies. Well organized and very loose conveyed with much expertise and small pieces of film. Great atmosphere in the deep cellar. Also the new pub is well done. The bagpipe player and the musicians in the basement well complete the range. Recommended!

  • We were for the first time on the Kyrburg. Together with friends, we have booked the Burgtasting months ago, there quickly booked what is also important to recommend. It pays to come early and either to explore the Castle or on the terrace of the pub just to enjoy the views. We were lucky with the weather, so the greeting (wonderfully with a whiskey cocktail), accompanied by the bagpipe player, outdoor could take place. Then it went to the relatively newly built pub menu. Sufficient time is allowed between courses. After dinner, the Burgtur launched: on three break points in the first three whiskies to test be given out, accompanied by Andi from trier (Andreas Samuel, terrific!) with Bänkelgesang, Minstrel songs, and loudness. Back from the Castle, we climbed into the legendary cellar with its thousands of whisky bottles. Here were the last four varieties submitted, told some stories and movies shown. You can also buy a. About 1 o'clock in the morning is this wonderful evening to end and you get a certificate on which the varieties are shown. It was a completely successful evening with a great programme. In my opinion, it is a great principle, that each table and each group creates a list of drinks that spread to be drunk on the night and you can pay right at the end in an amount (also by debit or credit card). The service was excellent. We have stayed close (whisky-mansion), where we had a free shuttle service to the castle here. For the return trip, we had to arrange a taxi. Note: in Kirn there's only a taxi company, which is only a few days in operation and the driver had to back and longer trips. We had to wait yet not too long (have we the time with a past Guinness sweetened) and the staff of the Castle took over even a part of the rides. We were not here for the last time!
