  • Freshly renovated Museum on the fjord. Entertaining shows the maritime history of Kiel. Impressive including the interesting paintings, which give an insight into the old Kiel. To book tour worth alone very well. One should read the historical novels of Kai Jacobs addition for rainy days and interest in the old keel "Kieler twilight" espionage thriller around the old shipyards and the maritime scene or "Kieler shadow", the mystery about the new City Hall in 1911. While then tasty fish in the "old man" right next to the Museum. The old town is also not far away. Recommendation is the "Warleberger Hof" (again Kiel history and temporary exhibitions).

  • Our cruise ship called at Kiel on our way home, there wasn't much to do or see but we found this small maritime museum on the water front which also has a couple of small boats to visit.
  • A lovely museum which is well organised into categories. I can remember visiting here 35 years ago and now, in October 2015, the museum is just as interesting. I really like the model dockyard which portrays shipbuilding so well. The only thing missing are , as I recall from the last time I was here, are the shipwright's ( Bootsbauer's) tools. This is more than made up for by viewing the navigational aids. I loved visiting this place again and highly recommend it.
  • A beautiful Museum. Real modern and the exhibits are very well described. Interesting is also the exterior of vessels. The adjacent restaurant is also recommended.
