St. Severin, Keitum
(4.5/5 based on 65+ reviews on the web)
Stop by St. Severin, a quaint and historic church dating back to the 13th century. The church is the oldest religious building in Schleswig-Holstein; historically, its tower has served as a navigation mark and the church itself has also been known to double up as a prison. Step inside and explore some of its Roman-era masonry and ancient artifacts, such as the baptismal font, which dates back to the 12th or 13th century. Admire the wooden interior, paintings and sculptures, and one of the largest church organs in northern Friesland. Add St. Severin and other attractions to your Keitum trip itinerary using our Keitum vacation route planner.

  • lieigt widely visible landmark of Keitum, an old, powerful village church, which gives one the anticipation of a bike ride on Sylit already on the car-train between Watts and Heath. You on a dune Hill surrounded by a historic cemetery, which tells the story of island on gravestones, is by sailors and fishermen from the 18th Jahrt., sometimes whole families, with all the kids on the stone are depicted. Sonntgs EV. Worship in a holiday mood,-alternatively evening organ Konzerte-very much recommended for the whole family and then coffee drinking and walking through the village with its beautiful Reed-covered farmers holiday houses and beautiful doors and old trees, exclusive tailors of all Nobel brands. Arts and crafts. Very good restaurants and coffee shops in elegant surroundings. Quiet Dorfarmoshäre ring road, gelegntliche pilot, with which you can jets even to Sylt. Keitum gives real pleasure for body and soul. (On the swimming pool building ruins!-I hope that is soon disappeared!)

  • Saint-Séverin is Church Keitum Keitumer Church to see, because it was built on the company point of Sylt Trudy Kernes of width. The Church has been mentioned since 1240. In the summer, organ concerts by candlelight held in the navigators Church. Is worth a visit: the baptismal font, carved altar, the pulpit, the chandeliers, paintings and sculptures, the Müller Chair, long story short... the entire interior and the exterior. The old gis'-Bell carries the inscription: "I lament dead, living urge I, God, the Lord, I praise". The fis'-Bell carries the inscription: "God, the Mr is Sun and shield" and two intricate rings, to the names of the bride and groom to the wedding, the Bell was donated.

  • Very beautiful church in the "middle" of Sylt. There's a famous organ, where regular concerts are played here. One of the lesser-known sights of Sylt.
