St. Severin, Keitum
Categories: Sacred & Religious Sites, Tourist Spots
Stop by St. Severin, a quaint and historic church dating back to the 13th century. The church is the oldest religious building in Schleswig-Holstein; historically, its tower has served as a navigation mark and the church itself has also been known to double up as a prison. Step inside and explore some of its Roman-era masonry and ancient artifacts, such as the baptismal font, which dates back to the 12th or 13th century. Admire the wooden interior, paintings and sculptures, and one of the largest church organs in northern Friesland. Beautifully kept and peaceful cemetary
This little church has been looked after so well & was very interesting. The age & the history of this place was well kept. Loved it.
Arvid SVery beautiful church in the "middle" of Sylt. There's a famous organ, where regular concerts are played here. One of the lesser-known sights of Sylt.show original
