  • It was about 35 degrees Celsius on the day we chose to visit the art museum in Karlsruhe which is, for the most part, NOT air-conditioned. As others have noted, the museum is divided up among three ad...  more »
  • Let me start by saying that I only had an hour and a half and then I could enjoy only a part of the Museum, I liked it a lot, already the building is very nice and impressive. Dear staff, I saw how said only a part but I liked what I saw, among others some Rubens, rembrandt and other Dutch masters, nice temporary exhibition "UNTER FREIEM HIMMEL" among others there were some beautiful paintings of Caspar David Friedrich, Max Ernst, Gustave Coubert, René Magritte, Joan Miró, Cezanne, Pissarro, Paul Klee and others. Definitely I will come back to see it more calmly, the temporary exhibition ends on 27 August, the aduioguide, in the price included is unfortunately only in German, unfortunately for those who do not understand the language.

  • I visited other times this Museum, at exhibitions, but this is the first time I discovered the existence of another wing, latest art (things to get out of the main Palace, skirting the public gardens, and is just a few meters away): the selection is limited, but noteworthy. As for the main collection, in the other building, it is still interesting for local art, but not only (there are some nice Flemish and Dutch paintings-the chapel Thoma is particularly interesting). I have instead been able to fully appreciate the special exhibition because everything was exclusively in German (the permanent collection instead has great descriptions in English). Another point worth noting: this museum has a small room for children (changing table, baby games, baby ...): a great idea for them ... and the tranquility of others!

  • I can't say the best but in its own way it has nice collection. Especially modern art part of the museum.
  • Extraordinary picture collection, brimming with intelligence. Definitely not your usual public museum, indifferently displaying indifferent works inherited from here and there : this rather is for aesthetes, with works chosen by aesthetes since the 18th century. Don't be put down by the display of local academic painting on the ground floor, go straight upstairs and spend there several hours of pure delight. There is WiFi in most of the building and they have an Android app. Modern works seem to be in the nearby Orangerie building, something we unfortunately realised too late. We'll be back.
  • Classical Art. There was a Rembrandt and a Goya.
  • Super!
  • Tip Top
