  • The mineral museum has a wonderful collection of minerals. A beauty to see. In addition to the minerals also a Department with only artworks of minerals. Very worth it.

  • We stopped in here and were pleasantly surprised. Inexpensive to get in. Lots of history about the gem mines. Several gems and pictures of famous gems.
  • Hard to believe how many gems there. In any case, you should visit the Museum in Idar Oberstein.

  • Amazing precious stones. Really beautiful. And they explain to you everything you want to know to very high level and very in depth.
  • An absolutely outstanding facility, and definitely should be on the list for anyone visiting this area of Germany. Idar-Oberstein is a wonderfully easy daytrip from anywhere around Frankfurt - a lovely and easy drive (if you can avoid the inevitable staus), and the Edelsteinmuseum as well as the Mineralmuseum are both very well-worth checking out. Can't say enough good things about it! You will run out of adjectives when trying to describe the phenomenal minerals and gems, as well as artwork, on display.
  • Outstanding location. Exhibits from minerals and gemstone from the region as well as from other parts of the world. Those who are interested in gems, be able to see rare exhibits in excellent quality. In addition many interesting facts about the gem and jewelry industry and their emergence. The Museum is worth a visit!

  • The German gemstone Museum all gemstone species in the world with more than 10,000 exhibits shows a stylishly restored Gründerzeit mansion in Idar-Oberstein on three floors. In addition to sparkling gems and diamonds engravings and sculptures, as well as selected minerals pull the viewer captivated and artfully worked.

  • Very nice gems to admire and the ticket price was also in order. Only the note that permission to take extra pictures two euros will cost, we felt ripped me off! What a pity...
