  • Castle and monastery of Corvey are worth a visit. The system can look back on a history of more than 1000-year old broad. In particular the Klosterkriche is therefore historical architecture worth a visit.

  • The present Castle and monastery of Corvey has a venerable history dating back over 1000 years. The son of Charles d.Gr. Louis the pious initiated the establishment by French monks from the reform monastery of Corbie to the beginning of the 9th century. The western part of the Church, which today is world heritage dates from this time. Today the sacred building belonged to the Austrian noble Scion "Duke of Ratibor and Prince of Corvey" Although the Catholic parish, the castle itself. Competence and financial disputes cause currently, that the tourist use of the really remarkable complex is possible only to a limited extent, so that the visitor numbers to be more - divorced are. Nevertheless Corvey and Höxter are worth a visit.

  • I was raised with the monastery of Corvey in Höxter. With the family and visitors, we have made regular trips to Corvey monastery. Last year I was there again. It is as beautiful as it was then. In this place very much story; Hoffmann von Fallersleben of poet of the German national anthem (written in 1841 on Helgoland) is buried here. He worked here from 1860 until his death in 1874 as a librarian. But otherwise there is here to see history. A visit is worthwhile in any case.

  • We were not impressed. There is still a lot of work to be done.
  • The very good formative spaces with their wall and ceiling paintings and the monastery church with the Carolingian West factory

  • The Benedictine monastery existed until the secularization under Napoleon in 1803. Then it became privately owned and is to visit today as interesting Castle. 15 years ago, we visited the Castle Corvey and were thrilled. The Castle Cafe liked us very well. And the tomb of the poet of the Germany song, Hoffmann von Fallersleben, was impressive. He has worked as a librarian in the Royal Library. On our way back from our tour on the river Weser after we passed the Castle Corvey and took the opportunity for a short visit. It was obviously not on tourists, because the Palace Cafe was closed.
