  • We were early January 2017 here with friends. The Park is situated beautifully at the foot of the Sababurg and very extensive and generous. The enclosures of animals are all very large, humanely and well maintained! (much greater than in any Zoo, where I was before) The old tree population in the Park is especially beautiful - anywhere very nice, old oaks can be seen. I can only recommend a visit!

  • Who is the oldest in Europe. Is very well suited to walking. The animals have all very large enclosures. Liked us very well.

  • The weather plays only a subordinate role during a visit to the Park! It's easy just beautiful very extensive grounds... Just relax, take a walk, observe animals, enjoy the silence, the playground (;-) use with children or enjoy the delicious regional food! We will definitely be back!

  • We spent half a day at this park. The park was quite expansive with a wide variety of animals. Admission is affordable and if you have children you can buy little packets of snacks for some animals. There's also a "kid's zoo" where you can pet some of the animals. The restaurant has delicious food - a bit expensive but definitely worth it. Ask for the English menu. Some practical advice: Bring cash if you don't have a German bank card for the restaurant and come prepared for a lot of walking!
  • Ganz cooler Park inklusive Bimmelbahn
  • If you wanna forget your working stress, busy life and all then you really should pack your bag and drive to Sababurg. You can find peace in the nature, in wild animal. You can ride a Turist bus and move arround the whole park. Or you also can walk and look around you.
  • One could spend several days exploring this expansive park filled with many varieties of Northern European wild animals. Be sure to pack a lunch and wear shoes suitable for extensive walking. The scenic "Sleeping Beauty" castle overlooks the park, which used to be the hunting grounds of the local nobility. The bird show was particularly impressive.
  • I normally avoid zoos preferring to see animals without cages and fences. But we were guests, and this was the choice of our gracious hosts. Little did I know that this "zoo" was established before 1600 and that the extensive grounds include magnificent shade trees and broad meadows and lawns. This attraction is not on the main tourist routes but would make a very memorable diversion. The sculptures made from used farm tools in the small museum are great. Other exhibits in the museum are very well done.
