  • It is not quite easy to reach the top of the dump (ideally taking the switchbacks), but the views are overwhelming in good weather. A pity that the Observatory is still not accessible, and supports "will be blighted".

  • The stockpile of Hoheward has a height of 150m and is thus quite high. You can climb stairs the stockpile over (quite exhausting) or on paved paths in Serpentienen. The Sundial and the Obversatorium is on the dump one and from the top you have a magnificent panoramic view, especially in clear weather! On Sundays, many visitors come to the dump, but as it is quite large, many visitors are spread quite well. I personally found appealing as she had before the "transformation" of their nature - condition the dump Hoheward. I feel the stockpile as a very "laid". Tip: Top of the heap Hoheward you have a very good view of the Fireworks the Cranger Kirmes, or new year's Eve!

  • The stockpile of Hohewald value in the industrial heritage is more than just a trip. One can not imagine that this mountain is actually mine debris, it is so green. The rise of either directly on the stairs of the Zeche Ewald from, or through the loop way up. The Eastern ascent of the Dragon bridge or stairs from the Northeast would be spectacular, get past but even so. Already, the way of Pan aroma - a nicely developed circular walk halfway up - offers first great views over the landscape of the industry with its 11 Aussichtplatformen "Balconies". On the plateau top then the two installations, the horizon Observatory and the Sundial. Look south - the Pluto mines Tower, in the distant Essen and Bochum, as well as the Schalke arena and a high-voltage forest. In the East of the Hochlarmark with the Steag power plant as well as further the power plant construction dates and Dortmund, the Dortmund Florian quite far in the distance. In the Northwest the tetrahedron from the Marler chemical Park stands out. Though despite the great weather, many "Hikers" and bikers were travelling, the area is large enough that it is runs. Well, I also found that there is no food stalls on the dump.

  • This park is quite a climb, but totally worth it. Amazing views and things to see and experience.

  • When passing by it you should necessarily dare a little detour. Two outstanding points are the views of the Ruhtgebiet and for all who are interested the herorragende Sundial with great explanation. However, the Sun should shine.

  • The stockpile is a beautiful vantage point, the way up can be accomplished well also on the wheel, and the exit is just fast and cool. Many seating areas invite to the rest and recreation, unfortunately access under the Observatory is denied us for the second time, it is locked down and looks shabby. Yet fabellose views of the power station, the channel, Tippelsberg and the Tetraeda. A visit worth, it can only recommend.

  • If the air is clear a fantastic view must have seen one necessarily.
