  • Visited on a fine day in early December, this Mansion (the most ambitious project of Ludwig) takes approximately 15 minutes by boat to reach the island on which it stands. The exterior in the winter (as Linderhof) make it much less: the tanks are emptied, fountains, statues and outdoor ornaments off wrapped wooden protectors. Internally the environments affect much to the glitz and wealth of ornaments and communicative power of an ideal and a precise aesthetic concept in the mind of the monarch. I refer of course to authoritative sources an art criticism on the work. I beg only to express once again my concerns regarding visitor policies: here it can only be driven, in groups, on average, many of the same nationality (or language), the prohibitions are running the show and time of visit and the explanations are in my opinion (and here more than in other castles) definitely lace ups and limited. You can't linger. Times have dictated, beaten drum. Everything is contigentato and suited to a drive for efficiency and authoritarian control memory, starting from turnstiles and fences in the entrance hall. There never really have time to admire, reflect, share abundantly, nor with fellow visit nor with the guides.

  • herrenchiemsee is a reconstruction of the Palace of Versailles, this Palace was built by Ludwig second devoted to French history and his idol Louis XIV. Halls and rooms that leave open-mouthed. well worth a visit!

  • This morning we took the ferry from prien port on the island of males where is the castle of LudwigII, walked in the Woods, a bit disappointed by the climate that we weren't allowed to admire the huge garden and fountains that are dinnnanzi to the Castle but that it was undoubtedly paid off from sfarzosissime rooms inside the Castle , a marvel to see them absolutely, you was great even the Guide informed us about the whole story of the castle is its opulent rooms. Driving ticket cost 15 €.

  • Nice castle even if it's not done. The ticket includes a guided tour, so it's worth the money. The courtyard is very big, has very interesting fountains and a great view of the lake.
  • Really interesting history and gorgeous views. Can't take pictures during the tour. Lots of nice land around the palace to walk through and explore. All the landscaping is pretty and the fountains are amazing.
  • castle on the herreninsel in chiemsee. Dont forget to visit the christmas market here.
  • This is what a palace looks like when you've run out of money. Apparently the guy who owned this place wanted it to look like Versailles palace but couldn't get it done. He only lived in the palace for 10 days. The tickets are a good value as it only costs 8 euros and includes a 30 minute tour, access to the museum and the monastery. Worth visiting. The grounds are gigantic and takes a while to walk around.
  • Take a boat and visit this splendid caprice of a mad (?) king.
