  • the exterior is very nice. the internal rooms leave however to the desired. It is sufficient if you look at the whole thing from the outside.

  • The founding of the modern University Library Heidelberg 1386, the year refers to the year of the founding of the University. It was originally a treasure chest of ancient manuscripts, acquired the first Rector of the University, Marsiliem Ingenskim in the year 1388. This chest was in the Church of the Holy Spirit. Various book collections, as well as library electors Heidelberg Castle were merged elector Ottgenrihom in the 16th century in the Palatinskuju library, based on the choirs of the Church of the Holy Spirit and open to universal access. Its particular value represented the Fugger library. Much of this famous library was donated to the Vatican the year 1622 as war booty in the thirty years war the Duke Maximilian I of Bavaria to Pope Gregory XV.
