Pullman City Harz, Hasselfelde

2.7
Pullman City Harz recreates the American Wild West in the German countryside. Do your best Scarlet O'Hara impression in front of the O'Hara House, or enjoy a hoedown in the Big Moose Dance and Music Hall. Before or afterward, take a stroll on one of the hiking trails that weave around the buildings. When you pop inside, you'll see exhibits showcasing American history and the brave stories of building the West. Cowboy antics are reenacted with brevity because the park follows a non-violent principle in all its activities. Consequently, those antics mostly involve ponies for the kids and broken-in horses for adults to ride. • While it is running live music next to the stage of bull-riding so it drowned almost the music, a leisurely stroll and shopping night is not possible because all the shops are closed and opened only a saloon. Someone should show the chefs how to make good spare ribs without the burn. The afternoon show is just plain embarrassing.

  • No, because we won't have to go. In fact, the Park is only a slightly larger Western town that is optically very authentic, but has to offer little to almost nothing in terms of content. Apart from the very nice shows before the saloons about every full hour a few tipis, a standard indoor hall for 5-6-year-old and a small corner of the riding can be found on the site. Most of the buildings contain only restaurants/bars or sell Western knickknacks. Little or even no action for adults. It's already sad for whopping 18 (!) Euro entry. Who was at Hansa-Park, needs his money here unnecessary fried because all that has the local small Western town, there to see here only extended. The prices in the Park are disproportionate. Gold wash 4 (!) Euro. The burgers in the saloon are so la la; priced at least adequately.

  • I have to say beforehand that I'm not the biggest fan of the Wild West. But I was looking forward to a shooting range, doing some archery and trying some TexMex or Southern comfort food. Unfortunately...  more »

  • We are regular visitors to the Harz and this place was recommended to us by some German friends. We spent a pleasant afternoon here but don't expect too much. This is not on parr with Disney or even any modern museums I've been to lately. It's all all rather shoddy and second rate. There are lots of folks walking round in authentic costumes and the buildings are quite good. We enjoyed looking round the little museum and at some of the individual displays and exhibits. The shows on the main street are okay. The highlight of the day is the Buffalo Bill Show. This tells the story of how the west was won. It has a big cast and it was interesting watching the wagons and horses go past. The comedy was a bit flat and there was no shooting or sound effects during the civil war scene, Indian raids or gun fight. It was all mimed. We liked seeing the buffalo and the long horned cattle come through. Will Bill was good but the show lacked drama and excitement. The merchandise on sale in the shops was not up to much but the food and drinks were reasonably priced. I wouldn't make a return visit but if you are in the area and want to fill some time then it's worth the 8 Euros to go in and have a wander round.
  • Had a great time with the "Great James Dee"! If anyone has problems and need a local english speaker while in town, go to Mr. Dee's Billiard Bar, and he'll be happy to help.
  • ROMANTIK PUR ..
  • Cool
  • This is exactly the place where we at least 3 X go in the year, for a long weekend. Rangehaus, hotel or holiday park. The accommodation is great in any case. Here we meet like-minded people (hobbyists) and spend a very nice time with them. For tourists (guests), there are great shows several times a day! Go & let inspire you!
