Pullman City, Hasselfelde

(3/5 based on 85+ reviews on the web)
Pullman City recreates the American Wild West in the German countryside. Do your best Scarlet O'Hara impression in front of the O'Hara House, or enjoy a hoedown in the Big Moose Dance and Music Hall. Before or afterward, take a stroll on one of the hiking trails that weave around the buildings. When you pop inside, you'll see exhibits showcasing American history and the brave stories of building the West. Cowboy antics are reenacted with brevity because the park follows a non-violent principle in all its activities. Consequently, those antics mostly involve ponies for the kids and broken-in horses for adults to ride. Pullman City is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our world travel planner, Hasselfelde Edition.

  • We came across Pullman on our way back to our hotel from visiting another town. Unfortunately we didn't go inside the 'city' as it was rather expensive (our thoughts) but we did walk around the outsid...  more »
  • We (2 pairs) visit PMC for ten years, sometimes twice a year. So far we were disappointed us very satisfied with everything, but our present new year's Eve visit very: offering buffet has been bad in comparison to the previous year. While friendly staff and no problem was that we had to pour our beer itself. The buffet was filled in but not enough and only a broth as soup is not just the hit. The whole buffet was then very quickly unsightly. But the worst is the fact that new year's Eve, and today on new year's day no locality and no shop is open. We are here for 4 days and would have eaten a burger really like in the saloon or the Yukon. Since we were assumed that these places as in the previous years are also open, we were covered up with not enough food. Shopping is not possible on a holiday! We received another visit from friends who wanted to love to get to know the Western City. But how are they to get a good impression when everything is closed? So we are here celebrating new year's Eve. Also does not match the price-performance ratio. The evening cost 119 euro per person. Music went, there were missing but the usual performances.

  • Had a great time with the "Great James Dee"! If anyone has problems and need a local english speaker while in town, go to Mr. Dee's Billiard Bar, and he'll be happy to help.
  • We are regular visitors to the Harz and this place was recommended to us by some German friends. We spent a pleasant afternoon here but don't expect too much. This is not on parr with Disney or even any modern museums I've been to lately. It's all all rather shoddy and second rate. There are lots of folks walking round in authentic costumes and the buildings are quite good. We enjoyed looking round the little museum and at some of the individual displays and exhibits. The shows on the main street are okay. The highlight of the day is the Buffalo Bill Show. This tells the story of how the west was won. It has a big cast and it was interesting watching the wagons and horses go past. The comedy was a bit flat and there was no shooting or sound effects during the civil war scene, Indian raids or gun fight. It was all mimed. We liked seeing the buffalo and the long horned cattle come through. Will Bill was good but the show lacked drama and excitement. The merchandise on sale in the shops was not up to much but the food and drinks were reasonably priced. I wouldn't make a return visit but if you are in the area and want to fill some time then it's worth the 8 Euros to go in and have a wander round.
  • Very expensive entrance and still you should pay almost everything again extra. Price performance is not true in our opinion at all. Otherwise here has his own little Western world and you can dive here.

  • For a visit, it is quite interesting and varied. The children like it. I need does not necessarily make it a second weekend. Also the pricing should be reconsidered. We have booked 2 nights 190 euro and had to again pay entrance fee 60 Euro. Since we in total 2 half and one day in the area were, we gave much money also in dining options. This should then also be enough, overnight stay + restaurant. Positive, we found many small details in the decoration, what did a piece of Western.
