  • The Maschsee is for young and old alike. He invites you to go walking, cycling or jogging and offers here and there also possibilities for coffee breaks in the various price ranges. Also he is easily accessible within walking distance from the town of Kröpke. A little tip for party lovers: In summer, the annual, three-week Maschsee takes up on the north shore.

  • The whole thing was originally a meadow "Maschpark". In the course of employment, at the beginning of the "3rd Reich" was excavated to the Meadow, a layer of clay was introduced and then it was all about the "Maschsee source" filled. But no real source was the source but you took the river LEINE water, headed it over gravel and filled with water then Lake approx. 2.4 km long. Today the Maschsee Lake water is taken from my knowledge more from the Ricklinger gravel teichen, because the water of line is now very burdened. The Maschsee restaurants were formerly on the north shore of the Lake. You have given way to a modern building. Yet the pillar on the north shore. This also applies to the Maschsee typical boat House. You can rent there always been small sailboats or rowboats. The Sprengel Museum in the left position on the North Shore, a bit away greets the new City Hall. Towards the South it passes left the Studion of Hanover of the NDR. Then comes left the Bismarck school, etc. "Our" beach was at the southern end of the Maschsee. There, a fitness and Wellness Center has arisen today. On the other side of the Lake are the rowing and sailing clubs of the capital city of the country. Once in a year, the Maschsee Lake Festival rises at the Maschsee. Then there is young and old, and it is worth to pay a visit there. Conclusion: The Maschsee is then as now an attraction not only for the Hanoverians. He heard the Eilenriede city forest the "green lungs" of the city. Knut Hassan Karaki
