Stadtpark, Hamburg

(4.7/5 based on 200+ reviews on the web)
Opened in 1914, Stadtpark is a public park in a suburb of Hamburg that is a fine example of 20th-century German landscaping. The green space is in the middle of an area of urban development and often hosts events, such as concerts, fairs, and exhibits. Paved paths provide roads for bicyclists and walkers, while the large sports center at the southeast corner has indoor swimming facilities and room for sports. In the northwest corner you'll find a planetarium with daily shows. Take a leisurely stroll throughout the park, and you'll see sculptures and cafes amid the gardens. Put Stadtpark on your schedule, and learn what else deserves a visit by using our Hamburg trip itinerary maker.

  • Visited 2.4.17 this is a nice inner city park but access is kind of challenging now as construction ongoing. Should be topshelf again soon. Nice area to walk, bike, run or exercise. the Doctor hit me ...  more »
  • In summer maybe the whole lawn is crowded with people barbecuing. Sad that there are problems with the left garbage. It's a shame. The park is beautiful. Old trees, many ways to walk. It's really wort...  more »
  • If you really want to feel part of Hamburg, you must spend a Sunday in this park; It is where gather to live, play, exercise and walk most of the inhabitants. It is an excellent choice.

  • Great place in summer time (grill'n Chill) meet nice people.... And to take a walk in spring / fall-time. Definitely worth to visit
  • We were blessed to find an apartment next to the park, so I go here almost everyday. This is my favorite park in any city I have ever been! There are many hidden gardens and corners to hangout in. Love it!
  • Great place for everybody. Great views, awesome sunset, nice garden, places to do sports. Also nice playground for children of all ages. Great paddling pool to play.
  • Wonderful park in the summer, with areas for all your needs: You can bbq in the centre (providing there are no events on) You can swim in the separate area on the lake (not in the whole lake!!) You can go for a run around the park You can play various sports on the fields and pitches... And in the winter it's still a wonderful place to walk around and enjoy during the daylight hours!
  • A resident or a local: this place cannot be missed! Great for outdoor play for grown ups and/or children, to have lunch, make a grill, take a dip in a natural pool, jog, walk your dog, rent a row/paddle/pedal boat and take a tour across many canals of Hamburg, or to take your own RC boat for a spin and show off in front of kids. There's also a very big playground with its own children-save large pond that comes as salvation for hot days, a large planetarium with a nice panorama terrace at its top (free access), mini-golf course, snack bar, beer garden. This place is really big, clean, safe, well maintained, and is easily accessible by public transportation.
