Water Body
Often called the country's Gateway to the World, Port of Hamburg is Germany's largest port and one of the world's busiest. The harbor covers about 74 sq km (26 sq mi), taking advantage of the branching Elbe River. Visit the port, which is almost as old as the city itself, to see how many of the old warehouses have changed into contemporary museums, bars, shops, restaurants, and hotels. Ultramodern buildings stand right next to well-preserved pearls of 19th-century architecture. By using our Hamburg tour planner, you can arrange your visit to Port of Hamburg and other attractions in Hamburg.

  • We went for a walk to the harbor after a visit to Miniatur wunderland and so the impressive Opera from the outside. Then we walked along the seafront promenade-a lovely walk if the weather is nice!

  • Harbour Tour in bright sunshine. Best way to get to know Hamburg.
  • A place you definitely have to visit especially in the summer. Take one of the boats along to the beach.
  • Very nice to hang around, eat some delicious fish sandwiches and have a beer. Walk along the promenade, cross the river through the old tunnel and take a ferry back. Good to hang out for a day, enjoy the views and the atmosphere
  • Beautiful harbor. A lot to see, a lot to do
  • Cool beach bar. Find it and enjoy
