Panoptikum - Das Wachsfigurenkabinett, Hamburg

(3.1/5 based on 240 reviews on the web)
Open for more than a century, Panoptikum - Das Wachsfigurenkabinett holds court as the oldest wax museum in Germany. Get up close to more than 120 figures, including political ones like Barack Obama, religious ones like the pope, and personalities from art and music, such as the Beatles and Mozart. Popular culture is represented, too, with characters like Harry Potter. A separate section holds the museum's original works, designed to educate people with displays about widespread diseases. This section is kept separate for those who would prefer not to see graphic displays. Unlike many museums of this kind, flash photography is permitted. • You can only join the reviews. Price is absolutely ok and a visit to the Panopticon is always highly recommended. But with restrictions: in the time before the television has one himself to human infirmity and rarities "treated on". I don't like it. Also no longer reflects our lives. We also make no brown bears and Indians to the fair. I think it's also not for small children! I think worse than the horror corner behind the curtain (due to the very realistic representations) the medical Abteilungmit Embrio deformities, double sexuality etc. Pictures, kids hard get out of your head. Our 8 was very upset. Rhino man, and with the three eyes are something of the past. Not for children! (For me also interesting.) Therefore, the depreciation on just satisfactory. We have lacked even a wardrobe. the corner with Udo, Otto, and Klitschko and the Queen liked best...

  • Actually kind of Nice. A few really good figures. Unfortunately quite manageable and short. Hardly any Hollywood stars. Hamburg and Germany. You can however do.
