  • I went in knowing little to nothing about coffee, and after the guided tour, I'm so much more interested and educated about the drink. It covers the history of coffee and also delves into the preparat...  more »
  • We randomly came across this roasting, as we were travelling in the warehouse district. There's a super cozy guest room with many coffee equipment from the history in the roaster. The furniture, oak beams and brick walls make the whole room very comfortable. Just coffee beans were roasted in the "roasting"area, one could observe the process beautifully, until the beans at the end had the perfect color and barrenness of the furnace, was very interesting. On coffee and pastry counter, there was a large selection of cakes and coffees. We could not visit the coffee Museum due to time constraints. My conclusion: This roasting is worth a visit, super comfortable, almost so how I imagined a coffee Roastery.

  • The design of the coffe shop is unique. It's a pitty that they offer guided tours in English only on Sundays.. it wasn't worth it to pay entrance to the museum without having some guidance about what ...  more »

  • All the important items in its history are displayed and tour guide was nicely explained. The staff were all very friendly. The atmosphere was relaxing and classic with nice smelling of coffee.
  • Good selection of coffee available to buy in the shop (only reason why I went). Albeit didn't seem to have a lot of unground beans. Lots of coffee making gadgets too. Cafe seemed busy but just general feel of the place felt too touristy.
  • Good coffee, but very confusing menu for the coffee sorts. The museum in the basement was ok but doing the tour with the man was kind of long. You do get a free bag of coffee at the end. Cool atmosphere
  • Delicious cappucino and cakes also really soft. Will go again next time
  • Worth a visit to see how coffee was made. They also serve freshly roasted coffee and a few types of cake. Best to go with a German speaker.

Where to stay in Hamburg

The most dynamic part of the city is the St. Pauli area, also known as Kiez. This is where tourists and locals brush shoulders among the many bars, shops, and sites. Jungfernsteig, or Neuer Wall, is an upmarket area with brand name shopping and luxury dining. Consider a stay in the bohemian quarters of Altona or the Sternschanze/Schanzenviertel. These areas burst with character and offer out-of-the-ordinary shopping and dining experiences at lower prices.
