  • I bought a yearly card for the Hamburg historic museums and this museum was included. I saw that it was 20 min walking from Veddel S bahn station, which did not seem to me too far. However, as I walke...  more »
  • The harbour Museum in Hamburg is somewhat hard to find. Public transport will you best: go with the S-Bahn train station Veddel - BallinStadt. Then use the output of North (port) as well as the passage in the Freeport. From the bus station of Veddel West bus line 256 Australia Street / port Museum drive. Somewhat winded, but worth it. In the Museum the history of port revolves around.

  • This large shed is worth a visit, because it shows how drawn from 40 or 50 years in the port of Hamburg. Very rewarding. That was before the container age. All general cargo. With many old equipment. As I said: very rewarding.

  • Closed for the season from 1.11.2017 to 1.4.2017 but you can still walk around the building and watch the cranes
  • Very interesting and instructive as it ran off before the container time at the port. The volunteers of the Foundation offered us an expert, free guided tour of the Museum. Was worth it for € 5.50 very.

  • Great Museum in the port. When we were there, was the suction dredger under steam. Awesome to see this old technique in operation. The children had also fun as you at the "Sundays children" have made. A special guided tour for children from the age of 6.

  • On the way to a free port-tour, we passed more random in this place; It is still very far away. Target group adults are therefore rather not with children, because one must associate quite earlier times or just working conditions -. Complete with aspects, the details of other maritime museums in Hamburg.
