Aussenalster offers a thousand-year-old recreational oasis in the midst of urban Hamburg. The manmade lake is in a historic district near the site of the former city walls. You'll encounter parks, forested areas, and a number of white, copped-roofed buildings as you wander around. Around its 7 km (4.35 mi) perimeter, you can find different ways to explore--rent a bike or kayak, or take a boat tour. Theere are many cafe and restaurant options.   • The running track around the Alster has a length of 7.4 kilometers. If you go at the cafe "Cliff", there are all 500 meters a marking stone, in addition a stone at km 3.7 displays having half of the distance behind him. On the way you will meet it on many beautiful café. Red doc a small bar which is at another time of a toilet is the truth :) You will over come to the beautiful Imam Ali mosque, it was given in 1963 of the free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg the previous Emperor of Iran Mohammad Reza Pahlavi. It's worth a visit. You can see fantastic villas and marvel at. Have fun running around the outer Alster Lake. You can use also the steamer, riding on the outer Alster Lake.

  • As you look over there where are the trees is cool but I prefer vision where the little boats and the restaurant.

  • The Außenalster Lake is a recreational area with numerous water sports, in the middle of the city. In this way certainly unique in Germany. There are often festivals and Fireworks.
