  • The first mention of the Church comes from the year 1308. The Gothic brick basilica was rebuilt after the fire of 1503. There followed a reconstruction of the Church from 1880 to 1883. The triumph group, the winged altar from the year 1522 of by Brussels woodcarver Jan Borman, the pulpit and the artistic Council stalls is worth a visit.

  • Right in the town center, like all other German towns you will find a church, in this case this Marien church. What was unique was inside - a large beam between two pillars supports the large crucifix...  more »
  • Arrival at the Church after the mishaps occorsemi to the Castle and the Cathedral I found closed. From the castle with a short walk in the market square where I find all embalmed in the scaffolding from the Church. However, if you look good, around the corner there is a little hole and you are unable to enter: Hooray! Beyond the fact that I expected more, I have to say that the Church is very beautiful, it is worth it to visit. The altarpiece is beautiful and touching oak piety. At the side of the portal there is an Angel of Barlach makes me lost the consular visit. The ceilings are especially slender; the pulpit, in the Renaissance style, was inaugurated on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Reformation. Between the pulpit and the altar stands a gigantic triumphal cross who allegedly made from model to that of Lübeck. The Church is still running you can also climb the Bell Tower and enjoy a beautiful view of the city.

  • The five-nave Church from the 16th century is built of brick with a 53 metre high tower. Inside, it has only a few ornaments and the bricks are not plastered. The main nave is impressively high and has a very nice vaulted ceiling. The winged altar from the year 1522 looks very nice.

  • I was real excited by this church. With a friendliness and courtesy I received that I felt very comfortable. I wanted to briefly escape the heat. I got a glass of water and it was good again. But this peace brought to me the beauty of the gem it. Thank you
