Steiff Museum, Giengen an der Brenz

4.5
Margarete Steiff founded the Steiff Toy Company in 1880, and Steiff Museum pays homage to her greatest legacy: plush toys. Steiff was known to build all the toy animal prototypes herself. She insisted that the toys be made of natural, safe materials, and her company motto was "Only the best is good enough for children." The company continues to make toys by hand using natural materials for the fur and eyes. You can distinguish a Steiff toy by the button sewn into the animal's ear. • Not only was wondering if staple goods are sold, but it is relatively small, a little souvenirs you can buy easily. During the Museum's normal shops and next to the Museum and Museum Shop, also opposition across the road on the side generally stuffed round was shy, and error-prone.

  • We stayed with our 2 children but although the website says closed at 18, the Museum closes at 17 and did not write! Disappointment for the kids and for us. We comforted with the exorbitant prices of Teddy bears!

  • On Thursday afternoon, 25 minutes, until we are admitted wait. The expectation - and the disillusionment is great: the lovingly furnished and designed for young children Museum is rushes out in 60 minutes - you can invest more time for stuffed toy shopping. Gastro (Bistro button) poor and shabby.

  • My wife and I visited here in September and spent 90 minutes on the tour and looking through the shop, another 30 minutes would have been good to spend a bit more time walking through and another 30-60 minutes if you're eating there (prices look very reasonable and food looks good). If you have children with you I'd allow another 60 minutes at least as there is a lot to do for all ages but especially children. The children we saw there were having a great time. Parking was free when we were there, the gates opened to let you out without needing a ticket but this may only be on weekends. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area, it's close to a train station and the autobahn so access is easy.
  • It's just amazing for me.
  • Fun museum. Had to wait a while for a tour in English. Cafe had good food that was reasonably priced.
  • Love this place. This museum is not big but it tells you everything about a teddy bear! And the way they done it is amazing.
  • Nice place even if you don't have kids with you. Don't miss the outlet outside, next building.
