Steiff Museum, Giengen an der Brenz

(4.6/5 based on 150+ reviews on the web)
Margarete Steiff founded the Steiff Toy Company in 1880, and Steiff Museum pays homage to her greatest legacy: plush toys. Steiff was known to build all the toy animal prototypes herself. She insisted that the toys be made of natural, safe materials, and her company motto was "Only the best is good enough for children." The company continues to make toys by hand using natural materials for the fur and eyes. You can distinguish a Steiff toy by the button sewn into the animal's ear. • Visiting tour in 17 years, so I wanted to go there again this time stopped in the rental car. The new Museum has been built, was a good 10 minutes. Souvenirs including outlet shopping thing that it was not (small child-friendly if would be) purchased in the shop has been operating the old man across the road, wanted Disney Pluto serial No. Immigration (is a gift to my daughter...) Parking there is 3 EURO

  • It was a wet and windy day when our coach driver suggested visiting here and all 32 of us (no children) age range 17 to 80 had a fantastic time the way the museum is organised is fun and entertaining!...  more »
  • Nicely done suitable also for adults. The emergence of the Teddy's is associated with a beautiful story.

  • My wife and I visited here in September 2014 and spent 90 minutes on the tour and looking through the shop, another 30 minutes would have been good to spend a bit more time walking through and another 30-60 minutes if you're eating there (prices look very reasonable and food looks good). If you have children with you I'd allow another 60 minutes at least as there is a lot to do for all ages but especially children. The children we saw there were having a great time. Parking was free when we were there, the gates opened to let you out without needing a ticket but this may only be on weekends. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area, it's close to a train station and the autobahn so access is easy.
