  • This museum present an unique collection of very rare sailplanes in the Wasserkuppe, the german Mecca for gliders. Most of the gliders are very rare and some are still airworthy, Obviously the hangars...  more »
  • It was very fresh, but nice. Offers for fast food in the area are very good and plentiful. Will we repeat in the summer

  • There's plenty to see: about the history of the (sailing) flight, especially in the Rhön Mountains along with its pioneers and pioneers and their performances in various competitions and of course about the technology behind the fly and in various aircraft. The aircraft model construction accounts for a large part of the exhibition. Also on its development and history, you learn a lot and can see of course a variety of aircraft models from the average decades until today. There is also a small model-making workshop, in which you can take a look as a visitor.

  • An outstanding museum of early flight. You don't need to be an aviator to appreciate it. Wasserkuppe is off the beaten track for most tourists but it is well worth the drive. Be sure to visit Peterschens Restaurant while on the mountain. The scenery from the mountain alone is worth your while.
  • Since it exists, I'm all for years time on the Wasserkuppe and gliding Museum 2-3. Now, I was once again since Christmas and was very surprised. I find it's always impressive as it changed, enlarged and is always perfect and sorted! I think I will add a few photos from my last visit in Picasa! It says more than many words! Continued success!
