Zoom Erlebniswelt, Gelsenkirchen

4.3
#1 of 12 in Things to do in Gelsenkirchen
Originally called Ruhr-Zoo, Zoom Erlebniswelt was built atop a heavily shelled area besides the water. The zoo is divided into habitats based the animals' natural environments, including Alaska, Asia, and Africa. Between the entrances to these areas, several houses hold smaller animals, insects, and educational exhibits. Before you reach any of these sites, you'll be introduced to the zoo's version of a Westphalian farm, which teaches you about the foundation of Germany life in the country. In its early days, the port provided the zoo with animals from the animal-trading industry. Now the zoo does its best to breed within its animal population. Two people and car park € 50 off! In the Zoo you want again €1,50 extra for a Zoo-plan! At € 21.50 P.p.. is not a piece of paper with? Fries €2,20, fries special € 4.50. For ketchup, Mayo and onions € 2.30? More than for the fries? Very large Zoo with little animals! Here there was little what has excited me! Everywhere you can find employees who dawdle and lead conversations through the area! I would prefer you would worry about animals or visitors! I don't want to hear in what season game of Thrones they have arrived for the price! Similarly, it was treated on feedings! On time we start eh & then announced that the show in the other part of the enclosure instead finds! Here, run the nurse then over and begin feeding, without which one has a chance to change location quickly with the amount! Then, the nurse with the micro is striking that his technique is not working! More 10 minutes pass before he decides then to do the documentation of feeding from the inside without insight into what is happening! Just bad! In relation I can recommend a visit of the Duisburg Zoo! There's not only animals, but also more visitor-friendly feeds! And reasonable prices!

Great zoo to spend a day with the family. Online booking possible and very to recommend to avoid long waits at the cash register. Picnic areas and enough seating & rest options given. "Bulwark" for transporting infants and picnic baskets, as described on the home page, available. Unfortunately just a little. During the summer holidays (July) you should expect an increased volume of guest and meet provide. Unfortunately, the signs and descriptions of animals, etc. in German "only" were. Since not every German powerful is a challenge for foreign guests. On the whole, but a "theme park"for young and old...

  • Very nice made - animals have a lot of space and they tried to cater their special needs. Only the ice bears were not so healthy looking. Great for kids with a lot of play areas. But you need good weather because most areas are outside.
  • You'd never believe a small city like Gelsenkirchen has a Zoo like this. It's large, beautiful, animals livein spacious and Interesting environments. I was impressed. Tickets are pricey but are still a bargain for what's offered.
  • Amazing ZOO! Asia, Africa & Alaska, can't decide which on is better. Day ticket for one person is 21,5€. Total recommendation
  • Lovely zoo, beautifully designed enclosures, lots of small but engaging climbing/ play areas to keep the children happy.
  • Great! It's a perfect place for a one day excursions with kids
