ZOOM Erlebniswelt, Gelsenkirchen
(4.3/5 based on 340+ reviews on the web)
Originally called Ruhr-Zoo, ZOOM Erlebniswelt was built atop a heavily shelled area besides the water. The zoo is divided into habitats based the animals' natural environments, including Alaska, Asia, and Africa. Between the entrances to these areas, several houses hold smaller animals, insects, and educational exhibits. Before you reach any of these sites, you'll be introduced to the zoo's version of a Westphalian farm, which teaches you about the foundation of Germany life in the country. In its early days, the port provided the zoo with animals from the animal-trading industry. Now the zoo does its best to breed within its animal population. • As a season ticket holder and Shutterbug entry-level, who lives in Gelsenkirchen, Germany, I can only recommend adventure world to the zoom. Each season has its own charm, where the prices are adjusted seasonally also offer. In the dark season the opening hours are reduced and the boat attraction in the world of "Africa" does not start. At all, then fewer animals can be observed. Very fair prices adapted. I benefit from it, there are fortunately also again a permanent Park card with my season ticket.

  • We have taken a trip to the Zoo on a dreary November afternoon. Great conditioning and spacious enclosure. Spacious parking package (€6 for day tickets) free Wi-FI network is offered. Beautiful places invite you to rest and picnic. It is very worth a visit.

  • We had booked a room for a corporate event, including buffet. This buffet was excellent - great selection, taste very good, it was refilled more than adequate. The staff are exemplary! A very successful evening!

  • A very fine zoo, after years of work. I still know the zoo from the time it was called "Ruhr Zoo." Today, it has become a very animal friendly zoo with large enclosures and way more space to move around for many of the animals than other zoos I've visited. Great for a family trip or to go on a getaway from the everyday.
  • Echt leuk! ❤ ❤ ❤
  • Fantastic place! A must see.
