Garmisch-Classic, Garmisch-Partenkirchen

(4.2/5 based on 180+ reviews on the web)
Three interlinked mountains--Hausberg, Kreuzeck, and Alpspitze--make up the Garmisch-Classic ski resort. The Bavarian Alps locale has a maximum elevation of 2,050 m (6,726 ft), with a vertical drop of 1,350 m (4,429 ft). More than 40 km (25 miles) of runs accommodate skiers of varying skill level. One of the most famous runs here is the 7 km (4.35 mi) long Kandahar trail, used by skiers during the 1936 Winter Olympic Games and annual World Cup events. A number of cafes can be found at the mountains' summits, offering shelter from the elements and views over the slopes. • Garmish-Partenkirch is a charm. In fact, each of the two cities has the beauty of being at the foot of the Germans, the very typical houses of Bavaria, traditional and preserved are a charming, historic centre very well taken care of, not to mention the traditional "Historische Ludwigstrasse", a fashionable street in the Centre of Partenkirchen, with shops, restaurants and bistros amazing. As I went in the winter to ski practice, I was excited about the area, wide tracks, the whole infrastructure for the practice and several degrees of difficulty, but with their own slopes for beginners, not to mention the ski school, on the spot, very good, Skischule. Worth the ride, not just for skiing but throughout the region with several tourist attractions, not to mention the visit to the Zugspitze. And English is widely spoken, facilitating tourism, not to mention the friendliness. Excellent.

  • The area is nice, but for children who start blue track that turns into red to get off at the station. The galley if your little one start. You must stay in bed kinderland then descend with ski. The restaurant at the top of the tracks makes good food and the outside bar is nice.
