  • I live in Fulda and this is the point where I am always excited to go when I want some peaceful time. It is located at a hill top with a quiet environment. Naturally there is a hike to this point whic...  more »
  • The Frauenberg is a monastery of the Franciscans on the mountain of the same name in Fulda, the origin dates back to the death of Boniface in the year 754 in Frisia, because he built a church 744-45 in Fulda read and located temporarily on the mountain moved back, to use the rest there for prayer. You wanted to put a "monument" to him and 809 was at, as he was then called "Bishop mountain", the first church dedicated. And when you've in Fulda, that's what you can do in 20 minutes a very healthy walk from the town centre on the mountain. The Interior is very well proportioned and impressed already... On the page to the Eingagng of the monastery, figures are placed in small niches representing the crucifixion of Jesus. Also you seem to be very old.

  • Nice church but not as grand or interesting as you would expect. The garden could be better cared for.  more »

  • The climb to the monastery is worth, a man has a wonderful view over the city - at least if you choose the left path. On the other hand, the Abbey Church is in itself worth a visit.
