Bachle, Freiburg im Breisgau
(4.4/5 based on 440+ reviews on the web)
Supplied by water from the Dreisam River, Bachle are a notable characteristic of the city. First documented in the 13th century, the narrow waterways were used as a water source and helped to fight fires. In the 19th century they were moved to the edges of the roads from their original position in the center to make way for traffic. Today, the clean water flowing through the ingenious channels is enjoyed by children at play in the summer months. Unless you're ready for love, be wary of stepping in the water: An old superstition says that an accidental step into it means you'll be marrying a Freiburger. • See, the small boats (specialty Freiburgoise) navigate these streams, happy children with their boats, c, is very nice, but what very good ideas to keep this architectural heritage, the vestiges of the past, because you have to appreciate a ca fair value ingieniosite of the ancients.

  • It's quite surprising to see all the streets of the gutters that can reach 30 cm in depth! It's very nice to see during the day, when the streets are quiet. On the other hand, overnight, in a market of Christmas where people play elbows to access the mulled wine booth, attention to the falls and twisted ankles!
