Create an itinerary including Goethe House
Goethe House is the author's birthplace. The house was built in wooden-fronted medieval style in 1600. In 1755, Goethe's father completely remodelled it. The home was destroyed during the war but was rebuilt and opened in 1952. A magnificent staircase connects the floors. The top floor features an exhibit on the home's history and its residents; next, a floor with the room where Goethe likely was born, as well as his sister's bedroom; below that, a music room; and finally the entrance hall and kitchen. Consider using the audio guide as you tour the building. Inspirock's itinerary builder makes planning a Frankfurt trip simple and quick.

  • A very interesting museum! Romanticism was felt naturally in all senses. A very interactive experience. A wide number of books in the souvenir shop, but unfortunately all in German language. The souvenirs were not topically selected.
  • Interesting, you can feel the Goethe's inspiration!
  • The house and the museum are very interesting. It is a pleasant visit. However, the staff are not friendly and watch your every move.
  • Goethe's family house. 4 floors and a small yard to see. The ticket is combined with the ticket to the romantic museum. Adult 10€, students 6 €. Worth visiting.
  • Learned quite a bit about Goethe through the attached museum and his house. Very interesting experience. The staff were great, and the English floor map was great.
