Eiserner Steg, Frankfurt

(4.4/5 based on 950 reviews on the web)
Built in 1867 to support horse and carriage traffic over the River Main to the train station, Eiserner Steg offers stunning views of Frankfurt's skyline and most historic buildings. Cars are not allowed on the bridge, making it an ideal place for a romantic walk or a pensive stroll. Along the railings and bridge structure, you'll find hundreds of padlocks placed here by couples as a symbol of their unending love. The bridge connects the city's historic quarter with the Sachsenhausen district, where plentiful museums and pubs serve typical German cider. • Without a doubt, the best view in town (bass). The bridge is beautiful, full of people. Good for photos, especially after lunch when the Sun is lower or early in the morning. Recommend going day and night, for both pictures.

  • The best thing about the Eiserner Steg is the combination of the two main banks. When weather is nice, the people are of course wild how to walk around and relax on the main. Also a nice Selfie with the skyline in the background, you can shoot! So people off after Mainhatten and down to the shore!

  • The Eiserner Steg is a footbridge leading over the river Main in the city of Frankfurt. It is near to Romer. I love this bridge because of view and obviously for Love locks.  more »

  • I wonder why there are locks tied to both sides of the iron walls of the bridge.. the view was amazing...while trying to take a selfie my phone slipped and drowned in the river....came back with a heavy heart.
  • Locks of Love! Often, musicians will be playing on the Bridge... notable meeting place & just a great, convenient way to get across the RheinMain River
  • I feel it is general european style house. If you want to photo here. I suggest go to there in morning is better.
  • Schöne Fußgänger Brücke mit super Blick auf sie Frankfurter skyline. Wackelt aber irgendwie recht stark. 😨
  • Good view in Frank furt. You can see both old town and new town in this bridge. You can feel the piece seeing the river and yiu can see the people jogging and walking around.
