  • I am music lover, visit the Aalto several times a year (Opera, Ballet) and was of course already a many concerts in the Philharmonic Hall, but I can be not just warm with this construction! Acoustics: there is a famous "sound hole" in the Middle floor. The top 2nd floor, the details and the warmth of the blowers lose unfortunately. There are just the cheap seats and that wouldn't bother me, if not so much fuss to the sound would be made. Modeled after the Viennese music club room and the ideal form of the "shoebox", they promised a phänomänale acoustics itself (as in Dortmund) but as I said, it has also its weaknesses. As a comparison, a visit to Dortmund and the Mülheim City Hall is recommended. But what really bothers me is the gruesome architecture to the room around: first, there is no single main entrance, one enters through several pages and so can sometimes miss. Then is this hideous form of corner including the terrace, so you must use the whole break, to find his friends. The "corridor" areas are the Getränkethresen very cluttered, as well, so sometimes the visitors abide by queues, because no order can prevail on the counter. The paved forecourt is spreading — it serves merely as a thoroughfare, as it wanted to sweep people prefer square. The Park is still, but the three grate figures remain me a disgusting and still puzzles. Conclusion: I'm more reluctant in the Philharmonie, the Aalto!

  • We were several times there and always again thrilled by the beautiful ambience, very good acoustics, and of course by the very interesting ideas.

  • Crowded concerts up to almost empty events, social events, etc. - here everything is on offer. Difficult parking situation. Prices vary widely. Unfortunately hardly clever gastronomy in a narrow RADIUS, you must run or get in the car. Often, there are events for which the common people gets no cards, but only members and the "VIPs" of the city. Acoustics certainly above average, but on the doorstep rather mediocre.

  • My personal favorite among the concert halls in the Ruhr area. The Alfried Krupp Hall impresses both by design and by an exceptionally good sound. I've been lucky all an two months time to enjoy a concert. The atmosphere of the entire plant is slightly nostalgic touch and has many modern features that failed the classical with the modern combine.
