  • As also Kettwig (see my review), also food is be introspective as rare in the Ruhr area! Here is what real is the stark difference between the South of food and the rest of the Ruhr area. Although here, too, a mobile phone shop, a subway (what sacrilege) or a Sunitha has made up his drafty, all peaceful and sophisticated plays (Cafés, bookstores, clothing shops, butchers, Delicatessens, etc.) Category. May find one or the other initially lifted it, so should also be clear to that it is nice to here to find everything quite well. The whole place is clean and well kept, people maintain a friendly and relaxed tone, it is racing nobody with stupid loud music through the streets, nobody needs to show how great he is. What also, the people here (not all, but many) have money and need only the life to enjoy. The gastronomy has increased significantly in the last 10 years: felt every 10 meters you can stop and eat well. The Italians are almost without exception to recommend (except Amalfi, who 20 years ago had his best time and now painstakingly to comply with not even tried the menu). The Cafés are great. Below: the cakes in the Café Werntges are a feast, but gustatorisch yet again sobering, coffee stales here something - I recommend the dolce gusto ggü, where the Segafredo is simply delicious (slightly too sweet) and the cake is really home made - and also tastes. The bike is most in an instant on the Baldeneysee and achieved the unique House on the Lake! When rain is just boring and you must beware in this solitude not the depression to fall victim, but flows in good weather the whole Ruhr area here!

  • Always times out. To the loitering and drinking coffee or sit on the Ruhr. You can ride it also wonderful with a visit to the Ruhr to the pedal combine.

  • The city of Essen has known two old towns, once becoming old town and once the [old town. Becoming old town offers many shops of clothes, drugstore to the fast food and cafes. That makes it very busy becoming old city. The beauty is of course that first gives a link to the "Brehm island" and thus the Baldeneysee (15 minutes foot March, definitely recommended) but also the old half-timbered houses and the nearby churches as well as the Folkwang University. Definitely visit.
