Grugapark Essen, a botanical garden established in 1927, plays host to Germany's largest collection of climbing plants, a bonsai garden, a medieval herb garden, wetlands, and more. Wander through the various gardens to see plants from around the world. Visit the greenhouses, spend some time in the sensory garden, or settle on the grass for a picnic. A little train offers rides around the park for a small fee. Entry to the park is charged during the day, but if you come back in the evening, you can enjoy the park for free. • An oasis of tranquility and the middle of the city, what we wish more of us? A very nice Park, especially the section with the suggestions as to how we might make our garden, I like very much. The Park is always a walk value, regardless of the season. Get out of your own walls, get off the couch, get in the Park.
