  • Since 1974 is built on this second largest ruin in Baden. One notices: worth a trip not only due to its magnificent view, but also because at least the core buildings of the once enormous fortifications are very well preserved. There are also some benches of vesper, from April to October the Museum and a small kiosk has open. A Demeter Manor with many happy calves, cows, chickens and goats is located beneath the Castle. There you can buy organic milk, scattered fruit juice and so on around the clock from Auromaten. For families in any case a varied destination. During the week are also lovers and Ruhebedürftigere at their expense. By the way, there are only 4km from here to the Oak Mountain Tower near Emmendingen.

  • Beautiful views and exciting festivals on the stronghold. P place available. If necessary, binoculars and Fotoapp. take, as well as a small picnic...!

  • Beautifully situated castle ruins with fantastic panoramic view. Easy to reach. You should take plenty of time to explore the castle with the help of the descriptions on the spot. Suggestion: Goethe has made a pencil drawing of the Castle. You can draw them from the same position and the same motif.

  • I actually ran there... It's just 2km from Maleck (part of Emmendingen) on very nice asphalt road- without any traffic. Many families with strollers and small kids even on cold December Sunday. The ruin does not have a guided tour. A(at least not in December :D) but it has a info boards on history, ownership and development of the castle. However these come only in German. It has wonderful view into the countryside and surrounding urban areas. Definitely recommend its visit. The entrance is free:)
  • Very nice ruine, well preserved parts and amazing views
  • I visited the castle on the occasion Hochburg Fest 2016 on the September. Friendly atmosphere, demonstrations of historical crafts, good food and of course great German beer, what more could you want.
  • Nice heritage of Emmendingen
  • The ruins of the stronghold is a wonder especially large and beautiful ruins. If nice weather, good to watch the sunset. Once in a year (always the first Sunday in September) the high Castle Festival is held in the middle ages groups come and make presentations, and there is also food and beverages.
