  • The weather is great and you think about what you can do. Why wander in the distance, if the good is so near. The open-air museum is only 10 km away from us. I was not here for many years. It was worth. Great Exhibition (toys from times past, play mobile exhibition, Landmaschindn and much more. Great: Kids get in free! It is worth!

  • We are now two years supporting members and like to exploit the associated benefits (free admission for adults) to visit the Museum with our son (seven years) and friends at the weekend. Children have always free admission, making it perfect for weekend Museum as a destination with several children. Whether in good or bad weather, whether in summer or in winter: again, there is something to see, to marvel at, to try..., both for adults and for children. This is due also to the exhibitions on topics of interest and the great events (Christmas market, everything to make the bread, feast, plant market, Easter fun, cheese market, Oldtimer meetings...) and the join service for children. You can eat well in the Stoof mudders Kroog, a restaurant on the Museum grounds, where classic and typical northern dishes are offered. Also here there are always again to discover what's new on the map and the food is just good. Especially in the summer, the water adventure trail for children is a special highlight on its edge and adults can learn yet interesting things (E.g. via trickle meadows). The Museum Shop offers interesting and sustainable products and books; the Museum bakery offers delicious, homemade biscuits and bread (sometimes made of rare grains) and sometimes, children can bake there own (see instructions); the teaching kitchen on the first floor of the Agrarium offers participatory actions often for children, where a whole Court under the guidance itself is prepared and then eaten. In the chicken coop, chicks grow up can be observed on the pastures and stables country pigs and sheep and sometimes cows. The summer festival for supporting members is particularly great. Unfortunately I can count here not everything, what is available, but you can partially on the website. Best man gives himself an impression. Conclusion: just only recommended for the whole family as you expand his knowledge there playful can and helps to maintain a living piece of history.

  • We come several times a year. Every time there is something to discover. Today, the Playmobil exhibition for us was new. Not only in the summer, the kids will love the water playground. The old houses and the gardens are beautiful. Well, that everything is not too much, so here the time is relaxation pure. The stay is rounded off by the good gastronomic offer and the delightful Museum Shop, by I find always something. Now we're thinking about a supporting membership: €70 for couples, children have their admission. HM!

  • Amazing open air museum close to Hamburg. Collection of old farms and houses showing how life was in the hundred and two hundred years ago. Some weekends people are living in the houses in original clothes showing how a day was during this time. Great for a family daytrip!
  • Loved it! I've been there a couple of times and I would be happy to go again. It's a open air museum with authentic houses from 14th to 19th century, which of course have completely furnished. Also, the museum store is quite interesting and I highly recommend to visit the cafeteria and try their delicious hot chocolate.
  • Very friendly and a lot things to explor that you usually don't see. So we enjoyed it
  • It was a very enriching and interesting experience. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. One point of criticism. I wish that the tours would be labeled better then just tours for......from 10-17 and with an arrow pointing I a direction. Something like WAIT HERE for the next tour every hour or every half an hour would have been more informative.
  • Well done made museum, ideal for a family trip with kids. Beautiful area, you can learn some historical stuff 🤓 the regular made events are worth to check out too. It's just nice, this is how an (open air) museum should be. But I'm not sure how much descriptions are in English (German only?)
