  • This museum shows what living was like in the countyside. History is made alive with animals, baking, cooking and various events. The restaurant offers old style cooking at it's best. Exiting for both...  more »
  • A good Museum of folk architecture and life. Many exhibits and operating models, objects and plants. You can immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the past and different trades and industries. Bought eco bread and biscuits at the lovely grannies. Everyone enjoyed it. Recommend.

  • With my son I experienced live here history. All the houses in the village offer much to discover and makes "comprehensible" history and life in the truest sense. The historic fair is a great new attraction and gave a lot of pleasure. THAT was not our last visit...

  • Well done made museum, ideal for a family trip with kids. Beautiful area, you can learn some historical stuff 🤓 the regular made events are worth to check out too. It's just nice, this is how an (open air) museum should be. But I'm not sure how much descriptions are in English (German only?)
  • Escape into the green, just outside of Hamburg. Great place to experience how poeple in the Region lived decades ago. Very interesting events all around the year. Kids love it.
  • A very nice "Museum" for young and old. Suitable for families even for a whole day trip. The water playground alone offers entertainment when the weather for the small hours. In the main exhibition hall, at the toy exhibition, there also much to discover and try out. Also, there are very nice events, which are always a highlight despite huge crowds on the terrain spread over the year. As a highlight, all under 18 have free admission!

  • Many times in the year, there are theme days, where visitors can purchase handcrafted products or plants. For two the entrance fee of €9.00 is already expensive, if still meals or drinks are added and goods to be purchased. The bread in a clay oven at reasonable prices are great. The only outliers: A very small raisin bread costs €4.00. Otherwise, the Kiekeberg is a beautiful trip in the agricultural past. The collection of agricultural equipment is impressive. Here everything has been gathered there to see so little elsewhere. A highlight is the regular pig offspring considerable large colorful Bentheim will become.

  • Great ambience by the historic buildings and landscaped gardens. In good weather, it makes walking fun through the open-air museum is historical knowledge about the life (-earlier) to acquire there. Suitable for families with children, because there are many offers for children are! Only drawback: the information panels are unfortunately not completely in English to read.
