  • We participated in a guided tour of the Villa Ludwigshöhe in the course of a hiking tour. The explanations and illustrations of the Director were extremely interesting and very lively. Much fun and interesting was conveyed.

  • If you are by Edenkoben, Edesheim, Rhodt or this area, recommend climb to Villa Ludwigshoehe, situated in the Palatinate forest, visit the town and contemplate, from this point, magnificent views of the Valley, the vineyards, Edenkoben and Rhodt. Villa Ludwigshoehe is a former summer residence, of Luis I of Bavaria and keeps inside lots of history. The village took several years to be built and the building was completed, in 1852. Next to the village, a few meters and after rising a short flights of stairs on the path, is Rietburgbahn, a chairlift that leads up to the top of the forest, to the top. Outside of the village and with wonderful views over the vineyards, there is a charming terrace with tables and chairs, where a good coffee. The entrance to the village costs for adults 6.00 euros and, children 3.00 euros. Outdoor parking is available. Recommended.

  • Why it's a Ruin? Terrible desaster at a historical place. Inside a lot of historical information, outside a never ending story. What a shame.
  • Nettes Anwesen. Tolle Aussicht auf die Rheinebene.
  • Here is the most beautiful view in the Palatinate. Should you visit, don't forget to join a guided tour of the historic rooms.

  • Only three stars because there were exhibitions of painters to see and these were not particularly interesting for us. Otherwise very nice building and great views of the vineyards.

  • The view from the Villa over the vineyards in the vast landscape of the Rhine Graben is really great. The guided tour of the Villa Ludwigshöhe itself (Kudos to our tidy Villa Guide) is also interesting and worthwhile. All in all a very nice trip.
