St. Lambertus Church, Dusseldorf
(4.3/5 based on 170+ reviews on the web)
The medieval St. Lambertus Church, likely the oldest building in Dusseldorf, is one of the historic quarter's best-known landmarks and houses the bones of St. Apollinaris, the city's patron saint. The structure's the famous leaning roof was said to have been twisted by the Devil in a fit of rage. When the spire was destroyed by fire in 1815, the fresh wood used for the hurried reconstruction was so moist that it buckled as it dried. Inside the minor basilica, you can see the tomb of Duke Wilhelm V of Jülich-Kleve-Berg, Dusseldorf's most important piece of Renaissance sculpture. Pick up a guide at the entrance to the church. After your visit, stroll over to the Rhine Promenade for a walk and a cup of coffee. • Amazing church with beautiful interior and architecture. Very historic and worth a visit to see the artwork.
  • It's a quite impressive church, that's worth the look, and it is located right next to the Rhine promenade.

  • The most enlightening place in this strange town
  • Catholic church worth to take a look around.
  • Nice church for sightseeing.
  • Basilica of Saint Lambert with crooked spire is one of the symbols of Düsseldorf. But an absolute new, rebuilt after the war. And if the original spire of the Cathedral once grimaced from the fire, then rebuilt the Spire skrivlen already deliberately, that was like before. Type cathedrals with straight spires in Germany and so in bulk.

  • Beautiful main Cathedral in Duselldorf
