Nordpark, Dusseldorf

(4.4/5 based on 160 reviews on the web)
Enjoy the diverse design and tree-lined paths of the historic garden at Nordpark. Originally built as a propaganda exhibition of the National Socialists in 1937, this park is now home to a wide variety of gardens. Explore the geometrically planted flowerbeds, or stroll through the lily garden, which is surrounded by shady columns. Walk along the 170 m (557 ft) long pool with sparkling fountains, or check out the exhibition space where artists display their work. The Japanese garden has a path leading to small bodies of water with an artificial stream inlet, plus a representative ship pier and island. Visit the Aqua Zoo in the park if you like aquariums and fish. The restaurant and playgrounds offer a respite from your walking. • A park well planned near the big expo centre, you can get away from the big halls and take a break in the open  more »
  • To the Park is easily accessible by Metro just prior to the eponymous stop "Nordpark". The Park is big, but pustovat, personally for me. There are many walks of local residents, and weekends in warm weather, all occupied by vacationers with picnics. There is a small Japanese garden, but if you want more "Japanese" and less people, better to go to kindergarten with Japanese cultural centre-there's more soothing atmosphere. At the entrance to the Park (Metro) will face monumental sculptures. If you have a strange feeling looking at these sculptures, it proves to be true-the entrance sculpture group created the Third Reich. These are the monuments of the era.

  • Lovely park with aquazoo (closed till 2017). Lot of parrots in the park
  • Nice park, just to walk around.
  • Lovely place to relax in Duesseldorf
  • Beautiful park ~~
