  • The architecture of this Jesuit church is really original! I think it's one of the places I liked in Düsseldorf. If you go one day, go there with discretion. People often come to pray there.

  • The St. Andrew's Church was built at the suggestion of the Jesuits in 1619 to Düsseldorf called. In the year 1621, they ranged at the order of General in Rome the plan for the construction of a church of hl. Andreas one, which modeled should be the Court and Jesuit church in New Castle. With the repeal of the Jesuit order in 1773 was the Church under State control. 1780/81 comprehensive restoration works were conducted. The Church was badly damaged in the second world war. The bells of the tower and the roofs burned down; the bells fell into the Tower Vault; the high altar, all Windows and the sacristy were destroyed. From 1964 to 1971, the State construction Office conducted a comprehensive restoration; the recovery process of the Interior was carried out by the sculptor and restorer Norbert König.

  • Church of St Andrew is a place of pilgrimage for believers. Here are the relics of St. Andrew the Apostle, St. Jude Thaddeus and Simon the Zealot, the Maccabiah martyrs and a particle of the cross on which Jesus Christ was crucified. Here is the Orthodox icon of the Virgin Mary "Passionate" and there is a gravestone of Albert the great, religious philosopher and teacher of Thomas Aquinas
