Where to stay in Dusseldorf

The Old City, Altstadt, is the center of the action and offers a number of hotels and guesthouses. For quiet evenings and a view of the Old City consider the Oberkassel/Niederkassel area on the other side of the Rhine river. There is inexpensive accommodation in the Unterbilk area near the university, along with a collection of bars, restaurants, and cafes.

  • Beautiful from the outside, a little sterile inside.
  • it's a no more beautiful church with a coffee bar inside?!? woow wunderbar it's a concert hall too
  • Hallelujah.
  • It's repaired just two years ago, now it's not a church, but more like as concert hall, very nice cafe inside.
  • An Angel without a head at the entrance to the Church of St. John (Johanneskirche). At the entrance to the largest church in Düsseldorf, in Church of St. John (Johanneskirche) you are greeted by figures of angels, preklonivshih knees. One of them headless, produces gloomy impression. This is not the result of Satanic rite and echo of war. June 12, 1943 year federal aircraft again bombed Düsseldorf and John Church was almost completely destroyed. It quickly restored after the war (1953), but this Angel left as is, as a reminder of the horrors of war.
