  • the Hetjens-Museum as a museum was opened in 1909. It is a leader in the history of ceramics, from the beginnings until today. The motto "Ceramics from 8000 years", is evident in all rooms. Exhibited is also the stoneware from the Rhineland, from the estate of the founder of the Museum, Laurenz Heinrich Hetjens. A glimpse into the world of ceramics on 4 floors. A very interesting Museum.

  • Stilles Museum, little going on. A Museum of old. Somewhat for ceramics enthusiasts. It needed a more modern Museum pedagogy.

  • Time is reached just open on Wednesday, strolling up to the time to go to the airport. Not expecting much but with Islamic ceramic showcase caught my attention. It is huge - 3 floors divided into eras and regions. The basement had an exhibition of ceramic of the andes and sud America more examples of Africa. On the ground floor there were things in the Middle East / Al Andalus. Only an error-had some tiles indicated that were from Andalusia but think that were of Castilla and León. In the last plant examples from Europe, Japan and China. Most of the descriptions were in German with some English but seems that audio service guide with headphones. Very spacious, well displayed and can see it all very calmly (in all the time was I the only one there). Enjoy it much. The only complaint was that not sell catalogs or books of them articles of the Museum.

  • A wonderful medium-sized ceramics museum, easy to overlook but well worth a visit.
  • Exhibits on the third floor, I was impressed with. Overall very extensive ceramic collection.

  • First exhibited in only 1 floor and I was disappointed, but from underground and exhibits on the third floor, was impressive. Go to people who are interested in pottery so close to the Altstadt wouldn't hurt.
