Landschaftspark, Duisburg
(4.8/5 based on 340+ reviews on the web)
Landschaftspark, once an old, abandoned coal and steel production plant, is now a public park. Woven together by walkways and waterways that are former railway and sewer systems, the ironworks now hosts cultural and corporate functions. You can delve into an old gasometer that now serves as Europe's biggest manmade diving center. Walk through alpine climbing gardens that have been created in ore storage bunkers, or venture on the high ropes course that was once a casting house. For views of the meadows and waterways of the park, climb the extinguished blast furnace--now a viewing tower. Spend some time in the middle of the former steel mill, which has been made into a piazza, or rent a bike to explore the site. Guided tours are available, or you can explore on your own. Children may enjoy the huge tube slide going through two ore bunkers, and the open hall for skating and mountain biking. • The "Landi" caters for all, from small - large and by young old! Go there very often my Traininsrunden with the mountain bike, from here it is linked to the complete bike network in the Ruhr area! That it used cast iron produced is unmistakably, and by many boards this process is very well explained. The brave ones can also respond to the blast furnace and up-close look at all. From the top you also has the Ruhr area super views to partial to Düsseldorf and, of course. The climbing garden and children's playground are very good, and also the friend on 4 legs gets here enough outlet (Please take the dog POO) also you can go in the old gasometer to dive. Station where there is a very good bratwurst and a restaurant with beer garden invite a snack to linger.

  • For climbers and mountain, it is a must to commit the fixed rope routes in the Park. It is fun and is quite challenging. But also for other activities and Familienausfüge the landscape park is ideally suited.

  • The "LaPaDu" is an all-round talent and there's much to discover: during the day, there are all kinds of activities by a climbing park with children's playgrounds with slides, a walk or to explore the industrial heritage and its historical significance. These guided tours are offered during the day and in the evening, then it goes with a torch over the area. Because at night the terrain in a special mood dips: lit brightly shines the former industrial site in a very different light and zig photographer bewandern the ground... Divers can "dive" into the gasometer and explore sunken objects – here it's worth but to be early, because the rust quickly clouded the visibility in water one... The landscape park is also often used as a backdrop for events. From the open-air summer cinema to the Christmas market a colorful cultural range is offered again and again...
