  • In this former Harbour, many office buildings have arisen in recent years. In these, a variety of restaurants/bars are offered. The nightlife has shifted very strongly here. In the summer the local offer outdoor seating (even on the water).

  • During the second world war bombing Duisburg apart and together, old pictures showing a huge destruction. The inner harbour was filled by lower barges and was bordered by the destroyed warehouse. Today, the old harbour refurbished with grassy areas and modern buildings. Here, some old Harbour Cranes with Office buildings and, at the back, some restaurants. The area included even as an attraction in "Route der Industriekultur im Ruhrgebiet". But, unfortunately, the port can hardly call live and for the such as. visited Stockholm or Gothenburg with its teeming population and water life is a clear disappointment. OK for a walk in the Sun, but not more. However, it is interesting to take a boat tour on Rhen and look at the large industrial port, one of the largest in the world. quantities of scrap from the German car industry and cheap coal from China transshipped.

  • Who wants to escape the hustle and bustle of the city centre and relaxed waterfront stroll along, will find the right here. There are in addition to the spectacular modern office buildings on the one hand the shopping mile of the water along with remains of the town wall, synagogue, reclaimed remnants of port buildings, playgrounds and picnic facilities. To stop something assure every Geschmeck can be found in the rear. Those looking for history will find something at the City Museum, anyone looking for modern art is very well served in the Küppersmühle Museum. Who shy away from the length of the path on foot, you can experience the entire area with the bike. There's plenty of room.
