Transport Museum Dresden, housed in the historic Johanneum museum, displays vehicles from all modes of transport--including the famous Saxon Muldenthal locomotive from 1861, which holds the title of oldest original German steam locomotive. The attractive building dates from the late 16th century, when it was a stable and coach house for the adjacent Dresden castle. Its permanent exhibition area includes sections dedicated to railway vehicles, cars, trams, bicycles, motorbikes, air travel, and sea travel. • Roused us Member of our group, as Professor of physics, and finally we went 19 people! Delicious the same Museum building, in the heart of the city and next to the Frauenkirche. It has a very long and interesting collection of means of transport, with particular emphasis on wagons and public vehicles. It has interactive activities for younger guests, a beautiful small souvenir shop to watch or to relax.

  • Reluctant as I was to attend.. my husband is the. Ar nut, I went along and had a fantastic time. Well worth the 8€ entrance fee. All types of transport are covered, starting with the horse and ending ...  more »
  • This museum is a must for families with Kinderrn. Here is something for everyone. It's all about bicycles, car, aircraft and trains. Anywhere short explanations! Super there are several stations where they could be active (Fahrradparcour, build paper airplanes, ships and more) family ticket cost €18 (2 adults and up to 4 children)

  • No cafe inside, only vending machines. Opportunity lost - there is a captive audience of parents stuck watching their children go around and around in the play area (which is admittedly a lot of fun for the kids). Impressive model train set too.
  • One of the best museum in Dresden! Its wide, magnificent, well organised collection will gratify anybody. For sure, it's a must-visit place if you in Dresden. Notice, if you want to rid off your bags and outerwear during the visit there is a cloakroom.
  • Great place for parents with children, knowing all kinds of transport and its history, at the 3rd floor is very nice place for little children, we spent there nearly four hours.
  • A lot of beautiful old cars, motorcycle's and a few old trains. The decorations of the museum are very well done and is really worth going to! But I would expect some more kind of transportation vehicles in the future to show more. And I was missing trucks which I think of by transportation.
  • Excellent museum, well organised with labels in English. Would happily have spent more time there.
