Originally part of the Dresden fortress, the palace is one of the city's most important historical landmarks. It now houses several museums and galleries. Visit the Old Master's Gallery to admire fine works by artists like Rafael and Van Dyck. Or head to the complex's historical museum to peruse weaponry and military artifacts from the 15th through 18th centuries. • Baroque style with beautiful garden and with several interesting museums and temporary exhibitions. It is worth visiting them all calmly.

  • Zwinger It's a huge in area, in two floors in high, architectural complex of the late Baroque and Neo-Renaissance style. Here are such museums as "Physics and Mathematics", "Porcelain Collection" and ...  more »
  • Very beautiful garden, medieval architecture, fountains, statues... free entry, again :)) A great place to look for inspiration!

  • The palace was amazing. Would have liked to see more of the palace and less porcelain. Staff were not able to describe the different visits in English. We took the full three tours which in retrospect I would have rather spent the time on the actual palace.
  • It's just stunning place. Really, i would spend there days, it's a shame that i had only few hours. Gorgeous architecture, so much beautiful small details. And you can buy a drink inside. What's make your walk more pleasant.
  • A place that you must visit when In Dresden. You can walk around without spending any money. You can even download an App to guide you through the area. A Downside: in the middle of the gardens there was a plastic dome with a movie in exhibition about the wedding of the century... unnecessary in that place
  • Beautiful palace well worth the visit. I would recommend the tour because there are a lot of things and information that is hard to come by otherwise. The old masters are a must see.
  • Great. Beautiful architecture. Free to look around. Grand and full of gravitas and broody imperial emotion. One of the best 'old towns' in the world IMO.
