Pillnitz Castle & Park is a restored Baroque castle composed of three palaces designed by architect Matthäus Daniel Pöppelmann. It houses an Arts and Crafts museum and a Palace Museum. The original construction dates back to the 14th century. A 28 hectare (69 acre) park surrounds the buildings and is filled botanical attractions from all over the world. Consider a boat trip down the river to get a different view of this attraction.   • in connection with a boat trip, we came to the Castle Pillnitz and use the remaining two hours to explore the magnificent park. We were amazed by the magnificent facilities, especially by the giant Camellia, whose Größe is hard to believe. Everything was very well maintained.

  • Worth a visit to see the summer residence of the Saxon kings. Interesting museums and lovely gardens right on the banks of the Elbe river.

  • Beautiful park with a big variety of exotic trees and plants. I did not like that you have to pay extra in order to be able to visit all the buildings.

  • Fantastic. The whole architectural context of the art preserved in the SKD Zentrum Museums is here. Lovely spot from an artistic and environmental point of view. You can take the ferry or steam ship back.
  • A must visit place if you come to Dresden.
