Create an itinerary including Katholische Hofkirche
One of the last and most impressive buildings of the Roman Baroque epoch, Katholische Hofkirche can be seen from all over the city. Its sandstone edifice is covered with fine architectural details that make its exterior distinctive. The bulk of construction on the buildings wasn't completed by Germans, but by Italian builders, architects, and a sculptor. The interior white walls and gilded altar are majestic and echo the grandeur of the outside and the Baroque observance of elegance. Visit during a service to enjoy the chapel's acoustics. • One of several really stand out buildings that you will encounter in such a relatively compact area of the city. It is a real beauty and well worth seeing...

  • Sure mass was in German, but one can follow along. Followed the procession, complete with donkey, into the cathedral for Palm Sunday. Beautiful service in a beautiful church even if I was attending....  more

  • Beautiful building with lots of detail. Sadly there is a huge construction site right by it right now. Worth a visit either way.

  • The sheer scale of this object - truly megalomaniacal. Worth it to merely walk in its shadow and feel the thrust of the walls pushing into the ground.
  • It is for sure one of the symbols of Dresden: nice cathedral, named Heilig-Dreifaltigkeitskirche, also known as Katholische Hofkirche. It was designed by Italian architect Gaetano Chiaveri. It is located on Schloßplatz in the Altstadt in the center of Dresden, Saxony, and is the cathedral of the Dresden-Meissen diocese. Originally a parish church, it was elevated to the status of cathedral of the Diocese of Dresden-Meissen in 1964. Since 1980 it has had the title Holy Trinity Cathedral.
  • This baroque church stands grandiously in close proximity to the Augustus Brücke, now completely renovated. This splendid church stands out at Schloßplatz with its numerous statues at the roof and around the building. The inside reveals the portraits of saints, but also statues of a more modern touch. The Church has also been recently renovated. It's undoubtedly worth a visit, both as a tourist, for its interior and exterior beauty and, as a Catholic for the mass and the kindness of the priest Büchner.
  • Lovely church. Nice and scenic. Old heritage. Photo point. Must visit.
  • Looks amazing from outside. The insights are in renovation till the middle of february
