(4.4/5 based on 280+ reviews on the web)
Dresden Transport Museum, housed in the historic Johanneum museum, displays vehicles from all modes of transport--including the famous Saxon Muldenthal locomotive from 1861, which holds the title of oldest original German steam locomotive. The attractive building dates from the late 16th century, when it was a stable and coach house for the adjacent Dresden castle. Its permanent exhibition area includes sections dedicated to railway vehicles, cars, trams, bicycles, motorbikes, air travel, and sea travel. Don't miss the informative film that runs every hour on the hour, explaining the history of Dresden and the museum. • Who would like to see vehicles of any kind and era is right here. Whether bicycle, motorcycle, car or trains / locomotives are even a small plane. For children and adults of course, a large model railroad is built. For the little one is on the top floor greater traffic garden with Bobby cars, traffic lights etc. A good visit.

  • There were some changes in the area of transport on the ground floor. Most of the vehicles (cars and two-wheeled vehicles) from the GDR were exhibited and well explained but production. On the first floor, you had to climb up the stairs on foot, no longer so good it looked. The boat trip was reduced to a minimum. The models of the GDR fleet was nothing more to see production but no ships from BRD-. Only a few old liners. There were some exhibits, such as a broken boat, which have nothing to do in my opinion with a Transport Museum on a significant part of the exhibition area. For this, we should set up a "refugee Museum", for me at the military history museum. I cannot and will not recommend a visit at the traffic Museum Dresden. Still, I will not again visit the Museum. The admission price of €9 is clearly too high in my opinion!

  • This museum is really stuning.Aerial models, sea models..everything is very nice and functinoal. Reserver about 2 hours for coming through this :)
  • Tolles Museum mit vielen original Fahrzeugen.
  • A beautiful Museum very well documented. Interactive and fun for the little ones to raise awareness of scientific subjects (blower, lift of an aircraft, lighter than air...)

  • Here, as the name implies, you can admire ancient means of transportation. Where are the old cars and trains to highlight that I especially liked. Each piece of the exhibition there is a good description for example: engine values such as HP and speed...
