Bruehl Terrace, Dresden

(4.7/5 based on 900+ reviews on the web)
Nicknamed "the balcony of Europe," Bruehl Terrace offers superb views of the River Elbe. Take a walk down the terrace to admire the historic buildings and picturesque surroundings. Pause near the Johann Friedrich Böttger monument to look for a fingerprint in the guardrail of the terrace garden. It is said to have been left by August the Strong and to be proof of his strength. Pop into a cafe, sip a coffee, and watch the mix of tourists and locals walk by. Put Bruehl Terrace on your schedule, and learn what else deserves a visit by using our Dresden vacation generator.

  • Each arrived in Dresden will reach here either from Al'bertinuma or from teatralnaya square (Was) and will spare no effort. The main promenade with views of the river and the new town.

  • My class climbed up here on our trip in Dresden and there's a nice view of the Altstadt. There wasn't anything spectacular about it, but if you're in the city you should visit.  more »
  • Go slowly and enjoy touching look beautiful! River views and the opposite direction, too stylishly-European buildings on the shore gives pleasure. Walk along the terrace is pleasant and more opportunity to drink a nice dark beer in small open-air bars, and vkusnen'ko eat sausages in a bun. A magical place for positive nastroenyh! The pleasure of walking will receive each, it would be impossible to stay indifferent and surrounded by magnificent architecture, istoiii, atmosphere!

  • The balcony of Europe. That’s the nickname they give Brühlsche Terrasse which is a beautiful place to take a walk. This used to be the city’s fortifications, leading from the Academy of Fine Arts all the way to Schlossplatz where the city’s main gate is located. I caught some artist doing their thing on the steps at the end of Brühlsche Terrasse. I suppose this is a good spot to plant yourself for a picture perfect view of Dresden’s castle district.
  • Great for an afternoon stroll along the river Elbe. Quite touristy, the views clearly don't only attract locals.
  • Great place to hang out and enjoy a little bit the contact with nature.
  • Very nice view on the Elbe River - Drinking beer on the benches is the best thing to do on a sunny afternoon :)
  • Wonderful terrace, wonderful view, but as well too many strange people...
