At approximately 25 minutes walking from Frauenkirche is the Botanical Garden, a great place to relax from the city. I would advise to go by bike, as the distance is pretty big (and you can leave them at the door with any problem). Plus the entrance is free. I really loved that the garden is not overcrowded so you can wander around freely. As you would expect in any botanical garden it is divided in different geographical sections such as America, Asia, Africa, etc.. I really liked the greenhouses (it has five!), specially the tropical one which has some aquariums and the succulent house, which was really good preserved despite the humid weather in the exterior. I’d wish the explanations were in English too, but other than that we had a great time enjoying the plants. I would recommend to plan your visit in the morning as it closes pretty early in the afternoon, even in summer (6pm)
Jens BadeBotanical Garden Dresden is totally clean, very idyllic, just pure romance! :-) You just can't believe this beauty on the edge of the large garden in short words! Many exotic plants expect & invite to the marvel at, which is known only from books, TV and holiday! But there are also quite a few native plants. Also, I find it a good idea that a herb garden was created! Because thus you can explain something the children apparently! I can recommend "" this place that invites to relax, Marvel, dreams, relax, contemplate, learning & relax! Praise also sure that there will be no entrance fee! Praiseworthy is also, the restrooms are available! Even wheelchair! It is also very exemplary, that found waste bins! Some bench invites in the shade to rest! Original seating (a kind of hanging swing made of thick rope) which is somewhat hidden, lets you forget the daily stress & the talks of life! There hiding in the bushes, you can wonderfully listening to the birdsong! I felt the winding little paths that meander through the gardens & winding through the gardens of stone very romantic! Also the small ponds are very pretty to look at! My congratulations, that you put on a small artificial pond in the "tropical or greenhouse" with great attention to detail, what a small bridge arches! There, I discovered several turtles, looking for some shade under their protective armor on this sunny day. Until you decided, laboriously & even funny to see, to plop into the cool water into & finding a welcome refreshment. I can recommend it only the other photo enthusiasts as a great photo & nature fan, to keep their lenses also ready for some unexpected snapshot! As so aptly said Alexander von Humboldt? "Nature must be felt." * here in this beautiful garden is just this feeling reality, here the heart can breathe! Maybe should you implement it as a small suggestion to specify any old "Main plant"? Thanks to the operators, the diligent gardener, & all other helping hands! Be sure, I'm very again! With pleasure, I forgive you five stars! (More is not possible Yes!) Jacob SeifertThe Botanical Garden is definitely worth a visit. The tropical house with the free-range quail offers entertaining entertainment even fauna friends. With the two newly created bee hives liked especially. Nice to see how well the garden through donations and by the free State will be maintained.show original
Maik SkoddowAm always again here. Particularly worth seeing are the succulent House, tropical House and the Arral of annuals.show original
Norbert ZieglerAs part of the large garden surrounded by a nice ambiance. The Botanical Garden an impression clean, very current, without however to tidy or artificially to work. Most of the plants are legible and permanently marked. In between offer additional information on different topics interesting insights for Cactus or banana statics, Lotus effect or economic use of knowledge of Botany. Maintained broad paths linked with smaller paths allow immediate access to a large part of the exhibits. The faction in the grounds and in the greenhouses as usual according to continents and habitats. Understandable, but too bad that even in summer, a visit is possible after 18:00 on any day. Nevertheless full of praise, and so much care and dedication even free; is to be hoped that quite a few visitors to the donation box to the wallet placed prominently at the exit access.show original
